John Kaag, in search of transcendence and a life worth living

John sought "Nietzschean transcendence" in his two Swiss pilgrimages, first as a teenager and later in middle age.

He found something more sustainable (if also more honestly equivocal) in William James's pragmatism. Is life worth living? Maybe. It's up to you. Your choice. That's as existential an answer as can be.
